An excerpt from my new short story:
"He sat on the edge of the bed gazing upon her innocent face hidden partially by the shadows of night. He wore only a white tunic with trews beneath. How could he do this to the lass? The struggle with his conscience had been on-going since he left Angus two hours hence. Robbie’s assessment of the situation was correct but it made the consummation no easier for him. If she were willing…Connall shook his head. The deed must be done to save her life, even if it meant she would hate him for the rest of his days. He valued his honor above all else…but if he turned from this deed he would ever have it on his conscience. Where would his honor be then?" I have just released my newest book. Watch for it at Smashwords. Click on the picture. My first book, available at Amazon.com for Kindle and, also, in print. Seonaid had been a pawn in her sister’s hands since she was a babe. After spending a lifetime in the modern world and at death’s door, Diedre came to her rescue...returning her to the life she should have led. She did not do this from the kindness of her heart. Their father, King of the Fae, had been asking about his other daughter. This was the true reason for Diedre’s actions. To make amends, she restores Seonaid’s life and finds her a husband. Garrick, a man of the Ancients bloodline, who rejected the princess at one time was her choice. She would have retribution with this match...she thought. Her own betrothed hounds her footsteps as he attempts to keep her from trouble...not an easy task for sure. Lokai is at the end of his patience as he juggles his future bride with loyalty to his king while attempting to keep his own father from usurping the throne. And then the plot thickens...involving his dead father, the royal family and Seonaid’s new husband. |
